COLLECTOR SHARES I want to say some words about the rosary from France. The rosary with 15 decades is a special form named "Psalter". This rosary goes back to the 15 th century. In 1470 there was a rosary brotherhood in Douais (France). They had to pray three days per week - 15 Paternosters and 150 Ave Marias. The old Psalters were from very small beads (coral) and are very fine. It was a typical rosary for a woman. They were worn like a necklace. + WEAPOS OF THE LORD In the 17th century comes another special form of the psalter. It was the "Passion of the Lord Rosary" with 15 decades and the sculptures from the "Weapons of the Lord" (nails, heart, hands etc.). Thanks, great help! RW |
