HISTORY: OF THE ROSARY - 17c
FROM THE DE YOUNG COLLECTION
17th century coin silver filigree /wooden beads

We quote the collector on this wonderful old rosary. "A truly marvelous old rosary that was de-accessioned from the De Young Museum in San Francisco some time ago. It is a wonderful treasure, of a kind that hardly ever comes up for sale.”

WE LEARN SO MUCH
Special thanks to the Walter Daniels family for sharing this information. We are always looking for antique rosaries to share with those who are interested in the history of the rosary and what they looked like as they were used centuries ago.  If you have one and are able to scan or photograph a rosary of this period, please let us see it so we may share it with others!
