**LITTLE MILAGROS**
Many of these little religious metals were originally 'milagros' (miracles). Little metal religious charms or Exvotos (offerings). When asking the saints for a favor one would purchase them, usually near the churches. They would then set them next to to the statue of a saint so the saint wouldn't forget to pray for them. Often cloths were present for them to be pinned on.

**AN ANCIENT TRADITION**
Probably brought over from Europe to Latin America, Peru and Mexico centuries ago. . Many we purchased in Oaxaca Mexico during the Dia de los Muertos (our Halloween). We added the rings so they could be used as rosary centers.

**ALSO NOTE THE 'GATE of HEAVEN'**
At the bottom of the page, the wonderful image of Joseph holding the child Jesus - is more than just that. The 'Gate of Heaven' is one of the titles given to Mary, making this a beautiful image of the Holy Family. Enjoy!
