 * CHAPLET PRAYERS*
13 GROUPS OF 3 BEADS FOR ST ANTHONY
The prayers below are believed to be written by St Bonaventure (1221 - 1274).
+
+
FIRST BEAD OF EACH GROUP
On the 1st bead of each group say the Our Father, on
the 2nd  the Hail Mary, and on the 3rd the Glory Be to the Father, etc.
+
AT THE END OF THE SEQUENCE PRAY:
 If miracles thou fain wouldst see - Do error, death, calamity,
 The leprous stain, the demon flies, From beds of pain the sick arise.
+
The hungry seas forego their prey,  - The prisoner's cruel chains give way;
 While palsied limbs and chattels lost,  Both young and old recovered boast.
+
 And perils perish; plenty's hoard  - Is heaped on hunger's famished board;
 Let those relate who know it well,  Let Padua of her patron tell.
+
 The hungry seas forgo their prey ---
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
 The hungry seas forego their prey ---

 V.  Pray for us Blessed Anthony.

 R.  That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

 LET US PRAY

 O God!  Let the votive commemoration of Blessed Anthony, thy
Confessor, be a source of joy to thy Church, that she may always be
fortified with spiritual assistance, and may deserve to possess
eternal joy.  Through Christ, Our Lord.  Amen.

 *FOR LOST THINGS*
PRAYER TO ST ANTHONY
Great Saint Anthony, who hast received from God a special power to recover lost things, help me that I may find that which I am now seeking.  Obtain for me, also, an active faith, perfect docility to the inspirations of grace, disgust for the vain pleasures of the world, and an ardent desire for the imperishable goods of an everlasting happiness.  Amen.

Tony Tony, come around.
Something is lost and cannot be found!
 ST ANTHONY - MY FIRST SAINT!
When I was 6 years old, this little non catholic girl was in the hospital receiving an eye operation.  I had never heard of a Saint, had no idea what a Saint was or what a Catholic was. And it would be years before I discovered that Saint Anthony was the saint of lost things!  Well, when I found this out, I could only marvel over my new eyesight and thank St Anthony over and over again - to this day! The hospital was St Anthony's in Amarillo Texas. For more see:
