HAVE BEEN AROUND A LONG TIME So these little 'Niner' chaplets with 3 sets of 3 beads have been around a long time, they have a history. Its more than just a tradition, as it appears, they also carried certain indulgences. Why such a large medal? We were inspired by pieces we saw in an antique shop in Munich several years ago that carried larger medals and reliquaries. We see the smaller medals more often these days and they are easier to keep in a pocket, but for home or altar use, the larger ones open up a moment of visual history that gifts us with a sense of a long lineage of prayer partners in the Communion of Saints.
