SAINT ANTHONY, WHO IS HE?
Who is Saint Anthony? He was born in Portugal and when he was 26, became a Franciscan. He became a great orator, gathering large crowds and was nick named 'Hammer of Heretics' because of this gentle but powerful gift. When heretics would not listen, he would preach to the fish who were in awe of the glory of God.

And once a starved mule bowed down before the Blessed Sacrament even though food was near. He is pictured with the Infant Child, Jesus because of a miraculous visit. He was 36 when he died. Each chaplet carries a title from scripture reflecting his life. (b.1195 - d.1231 - feast day 13 June - Patron of the Poor - Doctor of the Church)
