The beaded necklace is a random collection of 11mm iridescent seeds, hexes, small brass trades and sterling faceted beads which fall into a single, delicate but sturdy strand. The moss, indigo, amethyst and burgundy matte beads give it a naturally aged patina of many years. The beads are strung on a wire made up of 49 strands of stainless steel that is plied. Very supple and very strong. + The cross or crucifix is hand cast from an antique piece in sterling silver and solid bronze that has been antiqued to restore original patina. The clasp is cast from a vintage piece. CIRCLE

LEFT: The origin of this powerful crucifix is unknown. Although believed to be found in Ethiopia we dedicate it to the work of St Patrick,whose brother priests traveled as missionaries to Europe and Northern Africa in the early centuries of our church. The circular design suggests it may have its roots in the early Celtic crosses in Ireland. (Cross is 1.75 in. including bail) + 3rd ORDER - JNC.2440 MIDDLE: A traditional 3rd order crucifix. 20th century - hand cast from a vintage piece in sterling silver and solid bronze then antiqued to restore original patina. (2.25 in. including bail) + HIM CRUCIFIED - JNC.2450 RIGHT: Crucifix dating back to the 1700s from Russia. Worn with love. (2 in. without bail) |

The varying bead lengths, textures and colors give a powerful background to the pendant, which is worn by men and women, young and old alike. (Our grandson and his dad, a very tall and athletic man each have one in the choker version and wear it all the time). The sturdy but delicate clasp is cast from a hand made piece. |

DOVE ... that appears above the Cross of the Apostolate symbolizes the Holy Spirit, personal love of God. LARGE CROSS ... is the symbol of our human condition that Christ wished to make His in order to free us from misery, pain and death, the consequences of sin. HEART ... at the center of the cross, surrounded by flames, wounded by the lance, crowned with thorns and shedding blood and water from the wound, symbolizes the love of Christ for his Father and us. SMALL CROSS ... expresses the personal and most intimate pain of Jesus: His sorrow as Son at not seeing His Father's love reciprocated, His sorrow at the suffering of man that, due to sin, does not live in love, His sorrow for the unfaithfulness of those most intimately associated with His work of salvation. I must take this opportunity to tell you that the necklace is truley the most beautiful piece of, shall we call it liturgical jewelry, I have ever worn..
