The rosary is scriptural in that from the very first bead, when the angel visits Mary to tell her she is 'full of grace' and that she will become the mother of our savior, and his name will be Jesus. MARY'S ROSE GARDEN So this is what happens, each decade, and there are a total of 15, decades, 5 n each rosary, and in each of the mysteries, tells us of the life of Jesus through scripture. Now in 2002 , Blessed John Paul II added another mystery called the ' Luminous Mysteries' (the ministry years). It joined the other three, the 'Joyful' (Jesus youth), the Sorrowful (His passion) and the 'Glorious' (his resurrection). So in fullness, Mary tells us about the life of her son through the Rosary. + Traditionally the beads were rosebuds, thus the 'Rosary' of Mary, thus the rose garden of Mary. + FINE, HIGH END CZECH GLASS BEADS AVE BEADS: The deep rich turquoise beads are a soft oval in shape popular in old rosarymaking. Note they are somewhat flat and we turned a few so you could see. The matte finish and 'picasso' surface creates an aged look. Beads are from Czechoslovakia (known for high quality glass beadmaking) PATER BEADS: The old Pater beads are finely 'woven' barrels of copper from the 1920s. Each is capped wit h antiqued brass filigree to pick up the coppery variegation on the Ave beads. This rosary is a real treasure.
