Her good works and good teaching show in her daughter Mary and we all would love a touch of Mary's obedience in our children. She has been honored for centuries. |

The name Anna (Hebrew: Hannah) means "graciousness" in Hebrew - from the root word Hannan, "to be gracious."). Patroness of mothers in labor and patroness of miners (Christ: gold - Mary: silver) She also is the principal patron of the province of Quebec, where there is a shrine, St. Anne de Beaupré dedicated to her. She is the patroness of women in labour; and patroness of miners, since Christ is compared to gold and Mary to silver. |
