ST JOHN LATERAN II
RBW - BASILICA WINDOWS SERIES
We take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 9 We feast on the rich food of your house;  from your delightful stream you give us drink.
(The mother of all the churches)

THE CATHEDRAL OF ROME
St John Lateran is the oldest Christian church in existence.  It is called the 'Mother of all the Churches' and is the cathedral of Rome. It was built on the site of the family estate of Laterni. It reflects many styles of architecture and remains one of the most beautiful of the basilicas in the world.

Psalm 36:6
6 LORD, your love reaches to heaven; your fidelity, to the clouds. 7 Your justice is like the highest mountains;  your judgments, like the mighty deep; all living creatures you sustain, LORD. 8 How precious is your love, O God! We take refuge in the shadow of your wings. 9 We feast on the rich food of your house;  from your delightful stream you give us drink. 10 For with you is the fountain of life, and in your light we see light.
(rosary was scripture inspired)

SCALA SANTA
In a separate building you will find the Scala Santa - traditionally known as the 'holy stairs' brought from the palace of Pontius Pilate, the stairs Christ climbed during the Passion.  They were first installed in the Lateran Palace then moved to the new site to give access to the Sancta Sanctorum.
