Connemara (Irish: Conamara), from Conmhaicne Mara (meaning: descendants of Con Mhac, of the sea) - Connemara Marble is truly beautiful and can be very hard to find! We found this gathering of Connemara Marble in Ireland last year and felt very, very blessed! Have tried on several trips to Connemara and was unable to find any. This color is the loveliest of all we have found because of its variegation. + LEFT: DEEP, RICH HAND CARVED WOODEN PATER BEADS RIGHT: BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE AUSTRIAN PATER CRYSTALS IN LT ROSE. + So we consider ourselves blessed and pray we are able to find more in the future in this deeply rich green (our first beads were bright, pea green - but we sold out. We have added beautiful old crystal Paters of lt rose in honor of Our Lady. An exquisite combination for prayer. The carved wood gives a natural look. + EYE OF THE CAMERA We are always surprised at how the eye of the camera sorts out color - and there is little we can do about it. We sense a slight problem in the variegation of lights and darks in the Connemara Marble as the lighter areas have a tendency to flash back light while the darker areas absorb the light on the matte marble surface. When the rosary is held up in the hand, the natural lights and darks work together beautifully. + We also have no control over individual monitor settings but in spite of all this, we are deeply encouraged by our customers who write back to let us know the rosary they just purchased is much more beautiful to the eye than the images shown! Or should it be 'David's Blessing' (See scriptural reference below). 10 Then David blessed the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, praying in these words: “Blessed may you be, O LORD, God of Israel our father, from eternity to eternity. 11 “Yours, O LORD, are grandeur and power, majesty, splendor, and glory. For all in heaven and on earth is yours; yours, O LORD, is the sovereignty; you are exalted as head over all. 12 “Riches and honor are from you, and you have dominion over all. In your hand are power and might; it is yours to give grandeur and strength to all. 13 Therefore, our God, we give you thanks and we praise the majesty of your name.” |

Light rose faceted crystals capped in leaf like caps hand cast from sterling and solid bronze. Our first Connemara Marble was such a pale, pea green and they sold anyway! Here they are variegated earthy moss green, much richer and more beautiful. |

The Connemara marble rosary arrived today, safe and sound. It is very beautiful and a joy to hold. I have always been interested in a Connemara rosary, but the ones that one usually sees in O'Connell Street, Dublin, and Souvenir Shops are so badly put together, and the beads of a very poor standard. Yours are so very attractive. I was reminded of Hopkins' poem in praise of "dappled things". I look forward to using it on St Patrick's Day. Rev. Fr. Michael Cleary SVD - UK
... it is a gorgeous
