+ NATURAL JASPER MIX This is a new find for us. It is a naturally formed Jaaper stone sediment formed on the bottom of the ocean. It is mined, cut and formed into specific shapes. When we first saw it we thought it was a gathering of crushed Jasper fragments that had been 'glued' together then polished. But the more we read about it, the more we realized this was a naturally formed stone. (top image darkened to show depth of color) + EACH A WORK OF ART

A STONE OF of MANY NAMES This gemstone jasper is a mystery. It is called Sea Sediment Jasper, Impression Jasper, African Impression Jasper and Rainbow Sea Sediment Jasper. It comes in many color combinations, all of them natural and not man made. Sometimes the diversified designs and colors have names of their own. It is becoming more and more popular as people discover its beauty. We read somewhere that " its properties create an impressionist landscape worthy of Monet!" + RAINBOW SEA SEDIMENT JASPER Our favorite name is Rainbow Sea Sediment. It is mined from the bottom of the sea and is a sea sediment. Its properties are consistent with Jasper. Amazing! It is hardened for strength (Mohs hardness 7) You may note the matrix is in a variety of colors adding to its beauty. We are told this is from Africa. + JASPER Jasper covers a multitude of stones on the market. Jasper comes from the Greek and means 'Spotted One' It is a fine grained Chalcedony. It has been a favorite since ancient times. We read about it in scripture (Hebrews) and is also mentioned in ancient literature. Evidence of its use by man date back to the 4th and 5th millennium BC. Ancients looked upon Jasper as a stone that brought clarity to the mind and peace to the soul. |
