DEDICATED 14 SEPTEMBER, 2001
FEAST OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE HOLY CROSS
This is a small
way to respond but we dedicated this rosary September 14th 2001, on the
Feast of the Triumph of the Cross to all those who lost their lives and
to all who tried to save them on this day of infamy. It is dedicated
to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas remembering she stood
at the foundation of the cross.

As a birth stone,
turquoise is used for the month of December which is also when we celebrate
the birth of Christ. Somehow it all seems right as this is also the color
of the starry heavens that cover Mary who is with child, as the Lady of
Guadalupe. Turquoise is colored with copper (blue) and iron (green) and
rarely is found in large chunks. It has been used for ornament for over
6,000 years, and is used in the foundation of the city walls, the New Jerusalem.
~ ROSARY ~
SMALL 8 mm TURQUOISE AVES ARE SET WITH 'FLOWERS OF HOPE' THAT
SPROUT OUT OF THE PATER BEADS, SYMBOLIZING OUR NATIONS DESIRE
TO BLOOM WHERE WE ARE PLANTED.

The
wall was built of diamond, and the city of pure gold, like clear glass.
19The foundations of the city wall were faced with all kinds of precious
stone: the first with diamond, the second lapis lazuli, the third turquoise,
the fourth crystal,20 the fifth agate, the sixth ruby, the seventh gold
quartz, the eighth malachite, the ninth topaz, the tenth emerald, the eleventh
sapphire and the twelfth amethyst. NJB

We honor the NY Police and firemen and women, all services and civilians who so bravely walked into harms way. We honor all the military in DC along with the Police and Firemen and women who put their lives on the line to save others.
... he prays the rosary ...
I am a married father of four beautiful children.
I am a Federal Air Marshal and this position takes me away from my family
for extended periods of time. I am devoted to the Blessed Mother
and seek Her consolation in dealing with being seperated from my family
and in my responsibilities in my job. I ask the Blessed Mother to
protect my family while I am away and to provide me the courage to perform
my duties with honor. Thanks Karl D (USA)
... only confidence in the Lord can give ...
[My son] Ben's first day of preschool
was 9/11, 2001. Amid all that terror and disbelief, the sisters at
Ursuline Preschool and Kindergarten greeted the children with smiles that
only confidence in the Lord can give. I'm sure that they were praying
their rosary, too.
Foundation of the Wall III chaplet arrived yesterday...I'm getting it blessed tomorrow. What a beautiful way to remember all those brave souls! I wanted to celebrate the lives of all those mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers in a special way...more than just watching the countless documentaries that are sure to be aired this September 11. Thank you for creating another exquisite prayer aid! God Bless you all, Joell S (US)
... I went to ground zero ...
I just received my rosary yesterday and I can't say enough about
it's beauty, truly Our Lady inspired you with it's creation, the choice
of turquoise which was known in ancient times as a master healing stone
is truly appropriate for it represents a time for healing for all of us
as a Nation. I had gone to New York City during the Thanksgiving holiday
and went to ground zero and saw the devastation, there are no words to
express the feelings that come over you. I was struck with the thought
that this holiday season for many will have a great sadness and emptiness
of a lost loved one, I pray that we continue fervently to pray the rosary
for peace and for an ending to the hatred in the hearts of men. Xenia

As a New Yorker, living 70 or so miles north of NYC, but
having been raised in the Bronx, a borough of NYC, educated there and in
the "city" did not believe my eyes ... first hit ... the World Trade Center
... maybe an "accident" ... second seen on the internet ... that was an
attack: Pentagon following, reassured me. ... So many Fireman
& Policemen ... were entrapped when the twin towers came down
upon them. Lots of young, brave men; American-Irish ,Italian,
Hispanics, Blacks. I would ask that you distibute the calls for prayer,
thru Mary, for their rewards in Heaven.
+
We cannot forget the 40,000 who worked in the Towers, Secretaries,
Bosses, Clerks: they were Mom
and Dads, sisters and brothers to those who survive .Good
God how can people be like that! ... my Mom many years ago, told me, 'John,
nothing happens but for the best.' Perhaps a simple scheduled
airliner or 4 has accomplished our realization that we are vulnerable.
Perhaps, in the years to come we Americans will realize the sufferings
of other nations ... The rain has started here ... dont think good for
the rescue teams in NYC.
+
I would ask that you who create rosaries to Mary ... remember
them, not forgetting our brothers and sisters who
perished at the Pentagon, as you string beads ... or form
links to remember them. Making is a good time for
prayer ... it makes us focus on our job. Mary,
the Gate of Heaven. With sadness for our country and our dead, reminding
that Mary has been designated to the protector patron of the US,
I am with sadness,

Thank you John, when we received this letter from you we were confirmed
as we had made the rosary above for just this reason, to honor those who
were on ground zero and their families and Mary, the patroness of the Americas.
... "Mommy, what was that, what was that!" ...
The twin towers had been hit. My daugher Mary called from DC
to see if I was ok. all of a sudden there was a terrible sound on her cell
phone. It sounded like static but louder - I thought I lost her -
then my little 3 year old grandson, James who was next to her started to
cry, 'Mommy, what was that, what was that!" She said, 'it must have
come from the quarry'. (she said she knew it wasn't but needed to take
care of the moment.) Mary was a graduate of the US Naval Academy and was
a member of Seal Team 6 - so knew something had happened.
+
Since NY had been hit, we agreed she needed to get home. A few
minutes later we discovered it was the Pentagon. Thank God, her huband/classmate,
Vernon who works across the street from the Pentagon was ok, too. We are
all a career Navy family. You learn early in the Navy that
the Navy is a family and when one member goes down we all deeply suffer
his loss. Today, our family was extended to all the victims of this horrible
act against our nation and innocent people. Margot B (MI)
+
... all of a sudden - she just started to read! ...
Natalie (6) has never been able to read. She just
doesn't seem to connect the letters with words. On our way home after
Mass this morning (Sept 11) she picked up a little book, 'Hop on Pop'
that was loose in the car and started to read. All of a sudden,
she just started to read! She read the whole book! I asked
her what happened and she said, 'I just thought I should make sounds
out of the words.' I believe there are blessings large and small
coming on this day of sadness. Mary B (DC/VA)
... 'Mr President, this is the end of the world' ...
My Daughter Barbara called tues from San Francisco to find out
if I was ok. She said on monday one of my 9 year old twin grandsons
Alex, was not feeling well so stayed home from school. He went to
work with his dad, Maurice for the day. Maurice moves around a lot
at work and when he came back to his desk he couldn't find Alex.
Alex was alseep under his dads desk.
+
On his dad's blackboard he had drawn a 4 frame cartoon.
In box 1 - he wrote, 'Mr President, this is the end of the world'
In box 2 - he drew two buildings, on was on fire and there was an airplane
in the sky. (Remember this was monday and the bombing was on tuesday.)
In box 3 - he drew a little boy saying 'Oh man, I was right!) with
the words 'WORLD DOMINATION' over his head' In box 4 - he had a crumpled
up globe with a plane in the air over it. His mom asked him what that meant
and he said ' Its a US plane and we win'.
+
All I could think of was, 'Barbara, tell Alex he was right,
this is the end of the world as we knew it. But in some unknown way, we
are going to heal stronger than ever before as a country' I really
belive this. Margot B (MI)
+
... I felt I needed to pray ...
Mom, about four days before this happened, I felt I needed to
pray. I started to pray the Hail Mary. I really don't like
rote prayer, prefer spontaneous prayer but just belived I needed to pray
for peace and knew Mary was the Queen of Peace. Barbara B (CA)
... I was praying ...
Interestingly, I was praying my new rosary exactly at the
time of the horrible tragedies on Tuesday, not knowing what was happening,
as I did not have the radio or television turned on. Imagine my shock
to learn of these horrible disasters, and then to realize what I was doing
in those moments. I swear that rosary drew me to pray right
at the very moment when those prayers were most needed. Marcia
T. (PA)
+
As an addendum to that "sharing", it is my practice to always
pray the rosary in the evening - always. Tuesday morning is the ONLY
time I have ever done it in the morning! My daughter feels that I
was able to save a number of souls by that action. It is my most
heartfelt, sincerest hope that it was helpful ......... I am not a Catholic
but have been drawn more and more to some of their traditions, partly because
my daughter is a convert. Marcia T
... I live less than a
mile from the Pentagon ...
These are indeed emotional times. I live less than a mile
from the Pentagon. I was home on Sept 11, I heard the plane cra
