Jade has been treasured in China for over 5,000 years and was looked on as a symbol of love and virtue for about 1,000 years. Jadeite comes in many colors incluing pinks, lavendars, whites and yellows but most treasured and best known as a green stone.

Jade may be found in various parts of the world.  China and Latin America are the most popular places altho some is found in Europe.  In Central America,  it was highly treasured by the Aztecs,   Mayans,Toltecs and was used in art as it was easy to carve.

There are many qualities of Jade. Jadeite is the most treasured of the Jades and comes in many colors altho the green remains most popular. Lavendars, pinks, yellows and whites are some of the more popular and treasured colors. Serpentine is also from the Jade family.  Recently an excavation revealed an axe head over over 5,000 years old.
