WAY of the PILGRIM I, II, III
WE ARE ALL PILGRIMS IN PROCESS - ON OUR WAY
Three precious
rosaries to remind us that we are pilgrims in process, on our way to the
eternal city. Inspired by all who have and continue to make pilgrimages
to holy sites on earth such as Lourdes, Fatima, and the Holy Land. Pilgrimages
are a centuries old way of becoming more aware of our fatih, of the saints
and Our Lord, often through Mary. People then and now would collect little
reminders, medals and other trinkets to add to their rosaries to remind
them of the journey they took to the holy sites.

HISTORY OF THE PILGRIMAGE ROSARY
Pilgrimages to holy sites have been a rich part
of the history of the church for thousands of years. Records from the early
17c on show the Filigree Rosary and its travels from one holy site to another.
This record was kept through the attachment of a tiny 'souvenir' medal
for each stop along the way. A famous holy place in Ireland is Lough Derg,
(Saint Patrick's Purgatory) believed to be one of the earliest holy sites
visited by penitent pilgrims. Souvenirs from Lough Derg were the little
carved wooden crosses with short arms that we now see used in the Penal
Rosaries. Some of the little souvenirs from other European holy sites were
tiny hand painted faces framed in precious metal and covered with crystal
to protect them. St. John Vianny was famous for the tiny pilgrimages he
led to the famous Basilicas in Rome. Today, people visit Marian holy sites
throughout Europe on special Pilgrimages and collect medals along the way.

... Dear Ladies of the Rosary Workshop ...
I am writing to compliment you on the "Pilgrimage" rosary I ordered
from you--the piece arrived earlier today and I am thrilled. The
coral pater beads are beautiful, and the medals are especially striking.
Keep up the wonderful work! I look forward to placing another order
soon. The only difficulty is which to choose.... J Kiley (USA)
