So many of the Franciscan rosaries we see in museums are simple, made of wooden beads. Some appear to have been made of natural materials found along the way. We think of Fr Serra and Fr Kino who helped settle the Southwest and California coast, we can imagine they did not come heavily laden with rosaries to replace their own losses and may have replaced a rosary using seeds, shells, pebbles or wood. This collection of our Franciscan Inspired rosaries (RSDA) tries to imitate what natural materials may have been used along the way. NATURALLY SHAPED QUARTZ CRYSTALS NO TWO ALIKE ALL IN ONE LOOP

These rare and beautiful yellow quartz crystals are a wonderful find. they are in their natural state and no two are alike. A great gathering for prayer as we marvel over each one as the word of God himself. THE CRUCIFIX IS A TUBULAR ONE WITH SPANISH / IRISH ORIGINS (DATED 18c) Traditional 'ALL IN ONE LOOP' makes prayer easier and under to the hands and inspired by the rosaries that may have been carried by the Franciscan Padres as they built the Missions across the southern part of the US and up the coast of California. |
