We are all invited to renew our relationship with Jesus Christ and the Church We need to listen. The bishops remind us that we are not only to evangelize others but first we must deepen our own faith. "Believe in the Gospel and go forth to proclaim the Gospel. We are all called. We are all called to walk with those who have had a crisis in faith, either in the Catholic Church or in their personal lives. + Pope Benedict XVI has called for the re-proposing of the Gospel "though those regions awaiting the first evangelization and to those regions where the roots of Christianity are deep but who have experienced a serious crisis of faith due to secularization" + Why do we need the New Evangelization ? THE NEW EVANGELIZATION OFFERS HOPE
The New Evangelization offers hope. Jesus grants all people rest and comfort from the world's burdens (Mt. 11:28) by offering us the hope of salvation and eternal life. Through the “re-proposing” of the Gospel, the Church seeks to comfort all those who are burdened. + AVE BEADS: Ave beads are a variegated 'gem cut' that pick up the mineral colors in the crystal. Small metal spacers on either side of Pater beads remind us of the crown of thorns. It is now also offered in clear crystal gemcuts with garnite ends. (note pictured) PATER BEADS: A close-up of the hand faceted crystals. You can see the clarity of the crystal as it is like looking through glass as you can see the background. Then note the lower stone with its imperfections as in our lives. + WHAT IS LODOLITE CRYSTAL? Lodolite or Lodalite is of Greek origin, meaning "mud stone", better known as 'Garden Stone' because of it is earthy in color. Lodolite is a crystal quartz with mineral inclusions. The term 'Garden Stone' is a beautiful reminder of how we are called to plant the seed, the seed, the word of God! Truly a call to the New Evangelizaton. + Lodolite is only found in one location, the Minas Gerais area of Brazil. These mines are famous for its gems and minerals. The stone has a good hardness equal to that of other quartzes, and was formed over millions of years. Ancients believed that lodolite aided spiritual growth, an interesting thought!' + CRUCIFIX WORN BY SAND FOR CENTURIES? Was this one of the many 'evangelization' crucifixes shipped to New Spain (Latin America) by the priests who came to tell the indigenous about the true God? Many lost in a stormy sea. Many were primitive to start with as were hand cast in great numbers. Many holy objects were washed ashore after churning in the sea and sand over centuries. LODOLITE, 'GARDEN STONES'
+ AVE BEADS: Each bead is hand carved wood to remind us of the carpenter and the cross. PATER BEADS: Lodolite has a wonderfully natural appearance, no wonder it is known today as 'Garden Stone' . There is a bit of translucency on some of these beads giving them a sense of sunlight. Each 'Pater bead is individually hand faceted. Each is capped with antiqued filigrees. + "THE GARDEN STONE"

+ AVE BEADS: We added these wonderful soft matte (glass) 'pebbles', also in earth tones to complete a rosary for those who prefer a more natural rosary. PATER BEADS: When we saw these strings of earth toned, translucent Lodolite stones we knew they were destined for a very special rosary so we purchased all they had and have not found any we like better because of their hand faceted cuts and translucent quality. (Lodolite is crystal quartz with mineral inclusions) Very comfortable in the hand. + LODOLITE

+ This rare gathering of variegated Russian 'Blues' (CZ) confirms their age and how in the early 1800s, different bead makers handled the glass in different ways. Russian Blues were a favorite of the fur traders as the indians loved the 'sky' color. Because of this, it was very hard to keep up with the demands in the new land. Peter. Think if it - A stubborn, graveley fisherman, betrayer, hardly the man one would expect the Lord to choose to be the keeper of the keys. Yet Jesus saw something inside of him and through the power of the Holy Spirit, Peter (Petra - rock) became the keeper of the keys to heaven! + CHAIR OF PETER The traditional chair of Peter' - era unknown.
UPON THIS ROCK I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH And that he did! St Peters in Rome was built over the grave of Peter!
AND THE GATES OF THE NETHERWORLD SHALL NOT PREVAIL AGAINST IT! Go back and look at the rocks, the stones that cry out!
