 MATTED BLACK HAND PRESSED GLASS  - 1920s to 40s - Gablonz
Gablonz beads have a long and fine history in the world of glass beadmaking. These antique Ave beads from Germany were chosen because of the way they felt in the hand during prayer.   They must have been made for this reason alone - for rosaries - for prayer.  The combination of antique Ave beads and the faceted Pater beads was another delightful surprise. Each one is unrepeatable, no two alike. The amethyst Pater bead remind us of the fruit of the vine and the Eucharistic feast.  The tubular shaped 'picasso' beads are antiques from the same period as the Ave beads. For men or women yet a favorite of religious.

THE FACETED PATERS ARE PURPLE AGATE.
