These beads are made from glass cane dated 1920. This is the same year John Joseph O'Conner was born in Philadelphia. He was a man who loved children and loved life. When our children were little, they called him 'Fadda'. That was when he was a Lt Cdr in the Navy, serving as the Catholic Chaplain at the USN Post Graduate School in Monterey CA. He taught us that being a good Catholic did not include the smorgasborg table of choice. + We loved him and his outrageous sense of humor. As Bishop of NY, John Cardinal O'Conner served the Lord he loved well. He was a strong supporter of the unborn and asked only to be remembered as a 'good priest'. This rosary is a small token of love to 'Fadda', who believed fine religious art gave visual honor to God. He was a dear friend, a brother in Christ - and - a very good priest! ROSARY
