We believe the RosaryWorkshop.com is being directed to make our rosaries a more visual and symbolic journey of the dedication than it has in the past. You will not only see more of this direction used in color but in texture. When you pray them, we hope 2000 years of history will melt. When you pray them we hope you will be more in touch with, not only Our Lady as she tells the story of her beloved son, but of the one to whom the rosary is dedicated or the scripture passage that inspired it - opening up a 4th dimension of spirituality. + Each one above tells its story in these visual symbols. Especially note the Road to Damascus which tells the story of Paul's journey in color. A

According to historians, it is believed that the birth of St Paul was between the years of 7 and 10ad. This gives the year 2008, 2000 years after his birth - a perfect time for the Jubilee. He shed blood in shipwrecks, prisons and eventually beheaded, martyred in Rome and we hope we have captured the essence of the life of Paul in the dedication of these rosaries. Our priest Father Corey weighed the top one in his hands when were first made it and grinned at its power. We celebrate 2 major feasts in honor of St Paul. the first is on 25 January, THE FEAST OF PAUL'S CONVERSION and the second on June 29 (Sts Peter and Paul). |

Five times, I have received at the hands of the Jews the forty lashes less one. Three times I have been beaten with rods; once I was stoned. Three times I have been shipwrecked; a night and a day I have been adrift at sea; on frequent journeys, in danger from rivers, danger from robbers, danger from my own people, danger from Gentiles, danger in the city, danger in the wilderness, danger at sea, danger from false brethren; in toil and hardship, through many a sleepless night, in hunger and thirst, often there is the daily pressure upon me of my anxiety for all the churches. Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is made to fall, and I am not indignant? If I must boast, I will boast of the things that show my weakness. |

Tourmaline stones drawn out of the depths of the earth were hand faceted by man for this rare and beautifully simple appearance (almost gone, unable to replace). Chunks of golden quartz form the Pater Beads. + This first rosary is not for the light hearted as it is powerful and strong like Paul. In his travels he met with obstacles that would discourage most. You know when you are holding this one! You will sense the life Journey of Paul through the colors and the textures when you pray. So only in the actual holding of this rosary will its power and beauty speak to you. |

29 Fearing that we would run aground on a rocky coast, they dropped four anchors from the stern and prayed for day to come. 30 The sailors then tried to abandon ship; they lowered the dinghy to the sea on the pretext of going to lay out anchors from the bow. 31 But Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, "Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved." |

This remarkable rosary will NOT give the scanner its inner secret. What is it? Color. The pathway of colors, in transition, telling the story of Paul on the road to Damascus when he was brought from the blindness (dark into the light). From black to red (shedding of blood - martyrdom), Flesh (stripes - woundedness) to crystal (light of Christ, the Spirit of Light ). Truly a beautiful reminder of how Christ brings light into our darkness when it is held to the light. + COLOR CONFIGURATION / SYMBOLISM (Starting in the center with the Swarovski Crystal Cube, go in either direction to follow the story path in color): 2 ANTIQUED CRYSTAL (clarity of the word), + 1 FLESH (stripes,
woundedness),

1 Now Saul, still breathing murderous threats against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, that, if he should find any men or women who belonged to the Way, 2 he might bring them back to Jerusalem in chains. 3 On his journey, as he was nearing Damascus, a light from the sky suddenly flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?" ... |

These rare garnets are a deep rich brown, not orange. They make beautiful Pater beads, especially with the antiqued metal filigree caps at both ends. Note the little 3 water blue faceted rondelles that symbolize the three fountains 'TRE FONTAINE'. Dark red Ave beads remind us of Paul's martyrdom. (image lightened to show texture of Pater beads - Ave's are a deep red and Paters are deep ruddy brown) + Like looking back into the time of Paul's martyrdom, this rosary tells the story of the mystery of Tre Fontaine in Rome through color. the red is the liturgical color of Martyrdom, thus Paul's death in Rome near a place now called 'Tre Fontaine' (3 Fountains). To the left of the pillar on which Paul's head was placed to be beheaded, are three fountains. + Our elderly tour guide said 'when I was a little boy, you could still draw 3 different kinds of water from these 3 fountains. The city of Rome stopped the practice because the waters became contaminated as the City grew so it is no longer possible.' |

16 When he entered Rome, 3 Paul was allowed to live by himself, with the soldier who was guarding him. 17 Three days later he called together the leaders of the Jews. When they had gathered he said to them, "My brothers, although I had done nothing against our people or our ancestral customs, I was handed over to the Romans as a prisoner from Jerusalem. 18 After trying my case the Romans wanted to release me, because they found nothing against me deserving the death penalty. ... |

Choice of either the crucifix or Christ carrying the cross for the pendant. + EUCHARISTIC CENTER Eucharistic center reminds us that Paul and Peter did continue the celebration of the Last Supper, teaching the new converts and chosen leaders the appropriate way to celebrate the Eucharistic meal ("Mass"). Mass was celebrated in homes before churches were built. - The earliest Christians assembled in the halls of private houses, and these oratories were therefore called ecclesiae domesticae .) Many of these early homes now carry plaques recognizing them as 'Tituli' (see Catholic Online). |

~ YEAR of ST PAUL ~ JUNE 28 2008 - JUNE 29 2009 |
|
Paul was named after the first king, Saul. He was of the tribe of Benjamin and was a tent maker as were so many others from Tarsus including his family. It is not known if he was born in Tarsus and no record he ever met Jesus other than his experience on the way to Damascus. Paul was converted on the way to Damascus. Augustus Caesar made Tarsus a free city, which made its citizens, including Paul, a Roman. + Tarsus was also on the trade route and when a water passage was opened up to the Mediterranean, it became one of the greatest ports in the ancient world. This gave Paul a jump start on his travels to follow. In his travels he met with obstacles that would discourage most men. He shed blood in shipwrecks, prisons and eventually beheaded, martyred in Rome at TRE FONTAINE. |

+ ... PSALM 30:20,21 ... 20 O how great is the multitude of thy sweetness, O Lord, which thou hast hidden for them that fear thee! Which thou hast wrought for them that hope in thee, in the sight of the sons of men. 21 Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy face from the disturbance of men. Thou shalt protect them in thy tabernacle from the contradiction of tongues. 21. O how great is the multitude of thy sweetness, O Lord, which thou hast hidden for them that fear thee! Which thou hast wrought for them that hope in thee, in the sight of the sons of men. |
