These old pressed matte black glass beads dated 1920s - 50s by our vender are from Gablonz. They are beautifully matted to give them a look of washed stone from the shore. As they are used they will take on the natural oils in the fingers and become a soft satin jet black. + SPOKEN BY THE MOUTH OF GOD We were blessed to find such a rare, hand faceted Chalcedony bead that has such a glorious combination of jet, coral, gray and creamy translucent colors. (Note the small, faceted rondells on either side carry colors of the Pater bead) One can marvel over the designs formed when rocks were fluid, spoken into existence through the word of God himself! Abraham. Father of Isaac who is of the lineage of the Jews and Christians. He is also the father of Ishmael. This line, blessed by God is now known as Islam. But God's covenant rested upon his son, Isaac and then to Jacob. This rosary honors that Covenant and how his offspring did grow like grains of sand on the beach and stars set into the heavens above. And how we are called in more than a blood line - we are called by the spiritual condition of our hearts. Not stony hearts but hearts of flesh. |

The word Chalcedony embraces a large family of stones and is a type of quartz. It comes in a variety of colors and transparencies. It comes in so many colors that it becomes one of the most popular stones used in ornaments including cameos and intaglios during the Victorian period. Some of the other names of Chalcedony are: Sard, Carnelian, Bloodstone, Onyx, Chrysoprase, Jasper and Petrified woods and dinosaur bones to name a few. These used here are a rare combination - formed in a molten stage. Chalcedony was prized by the Romans as they used this stone for seals. It was believed to have healing qualities during the Renaissance period. It is also used in Florentine Mosaics (16c). It is found and mined in Burma, India, Mexico, Madagascar and in the US. |

8 Produce good fruits as evidence of your repentance; and do not begin to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,' for I tell you, God can raise up children to Abraham from these stones. |
