BAVARIAN ROSARY
SCORED WOODEN BEADS - 1850s
A wonderful example of a mid 19c rosary from Bavaria.
The beautiful but very strongly chained rosary appears never to have come
apart like the chained rosaries we have today. There is wear on the
center and crucifx so it has been used a long time.
The brass metals are very nice examples of the period, especially the puffy heart center. We have seen the heart used a great deal during the 1800s. The puffy heart is delightful as are the hearts that have been turned upside down so the wearer can see the heart.
