 18c JUBILEE ROSARY
PILGRIMAGE ROSARY
A wonderful Pilgrimage rosary from Rome, celebrating the Jubilee year of 1700.

CONFIGURATION   -    BEADS   -  MEDALLION

The medallions help us to understand the tradition of the Scala Santa and the 4 doors of the 4 major Basilicas in Rome.  These doors of the Basilicas of St Peter, St John Lateran, Mary Major and St Paul's Outside the Walls are highly visited by Pilgrims visiting Rome during the Jubilee.  The Scala Santa, Holy Stairs are believed to be the stairs scaled at the home of Pontious Pilate by Jesus before he was crucified.
