- ROSARIES & CHAPLETS
A VISION LATE IN THE 1800s
According to a vision given to Pope Leo XIII late
in the 1800s, this century is given to the devil. We see two major world
wars along with Korea and Viet Nam. In the 60s prayer is removed from school
followed by a fast breakdown of morality. Killing the unborn becomes commonplace.
ROSARY - DIRECT LINKS - MINI HISTORY
People are more and more confused by New Age practices
and attitudes which have been around since Adam and Eve. The Rosary which
is truly the prayer of peace, has fallen into disuse and the effects are
overwhelming. Church attendance and family values suffer. Godless people
commit horrendous atrocities against people of Sudan and Bosnia. This age
is known as the 'Culture of Death'.

1917 PORTUGAL ~ MARY VISITS HER CHILDREN
In Fatima, the aroma of roses is present. Mary
has a Rosary in her hand and calls herself ‘The Lady of the Rosary’ and
encourages the children to ‘Say the rosary every day, to obtain peace for
the world and an end to the war.’ The children, saddened by the anger their
parents have shown over the story of the first apparition, decide not to
take their usual short cut in saying only the titles ‘Our Father’ and ‘Hail
Mary’ on each bead of the Rosary any more. They agree to say the whole
prayer on each bead in hopes of making things better.

WHY MEDJUGORJE?
In history, before great conflict or famine, Mary
prophetically comes to console. In the 20th century, Mary visits
her children more than ever before. Starting in 1981, Medjugorje becomes
a major pilgrim site. In an interview on CNN during the war in Yugoslavia
(90s), Fr Joso, pastor of St James where Mary is appearing, comments on
how the people wondered why she chose their village - 'but now we know.'

ECCLESIAL MOVEMENTS AND NEW COMMUNITIES
And in this century there is an upswing in the
activity of the Holy Spirit. Inspired lay and religious groups begin new
communities and ecclesial movements and are noted by the Vatican. Gifts
become manifest in what are called the last days. All religions are
feeling the movement of the Spirit - the Spirit favors none. In the Catholic
Church, this Holy Spirit presence brings the faithful to an even stronger
awareness of the Eucharistic Presence of the Lord - and the rosary comes
out of dusty boxes and drawers to be prayed once again. A new century
and millennium bring promise of a new springtime in the year of the great
Jubilee.

1998 - EVE OF PENTECOST - ROME
In front of 500,000 people in St Peter's
Square, John Paul II recognizes the movement of the Holy Spirit among the
laity. He sets his seal on the Ecclesial Movements and New Communities
which are the result of the movement of the Holy Spirit in the 20th century,
giving great hope to the world.
