We quote the collector on this wonderful old rosary. "A truly marvelous old rosary that was de-accessioned from the De Young Museum in San Francisco some time ago. It is a wonderful treasure, of a kind that hardly ever comes up for sale.” + From the private collection of the Walter Daniels Family (CA-USA) + We are always looking for antique rosaries to share with those who are interested in the history of the rosary and what they looked like as they were used centuries ago. If you have one and are able to scan or photograph a rosary of this period, please let us see it! CONFIGURATION - BEADS - MEDALLION |
|
~ CONFIGURATION ~ A 5 decade rosary, strong instead of chained. Note there is no metal center and the pendant hangs from a Pater bead which is typical of that period. The Pendant begins with a middle sized bead, a small capped wooden bead the a Pater bead. This is followed by another capped wooden Ave Bead. Next is the Credo-Kreuz (Creed Cross). A medallion follows. Made of coin silver. (21 in) |
