MORE ART FORMS OF OUR FAITH
Each of these beautiful reminders of our faith is hand cast in bronze and in iron. A shell is formed in metal then filled with a resin.  This creates a plaque that is not only beautiful but lighter in weight as if solid it would be very heavy an very expensive.

... SYMBOLS OF IRELAND ...
Ireland’s great poet and symbolist, W. B. Yeats described a symbol as the only possible expression of some invisible essence, 'a transparent lamp about some invisible flame.'  Rather than fixing a meaning, symbols set meaning free. They resonate with our intuitive mind, letting go of logical thinking. Symbols speak the language of the soul. (From Wild Goose Website)

CENTURIES OF CELTIC FOLK ART
This beautiful collection was inspired by and reproduced from centuries of Celtic folk art found throughout Ireland.  A truly beautiful tribute to the people of the world who have Irish blood (and we all have a little Irish running in our veins), even if it is only in spirit.  The spirit of the Irish is a spirit of survival and a true sense of the joy of life! Each item below carries this spirit so deeply ingrained in its people!

PENAL CROSS - click for more information
WG.36 - 16c PENAL CROSS

6.5 in. - This 16c Penal Cross is unique to Irish fold art. the arms are short so it could easily be hidden up the sleeve. When England was trying to take over the land, they tried to destroy the hearts of the people by banning their language and religion. The answer to those who tried to practice either was death. So during these 'Penal' times, the church went underground. The rosary was prayed using this cross and often 10 beads for a decade.  A ring at the other end was passed from finger to finger to complete the 5 decades of the rosary, 5 fingers, 5 decades.

TREE CROSS - click for more information
WG.90 - TREE CROSS

8 in. - The tree cross joins two ancient symbols, the tree and the cross. The tree  unites the material earth with the spiritual heavens.  In the bible there is the tree of life, earthly paradise with its seductive fruits and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The tree, with its annual renewal of foliage, promises life's continuity.  The cross joins the horizontal (feminine) with the vertical (masculine). by the resurrection it promises life everlasting. 'We must find some place on the Tree of Life high enough for the passion that is exaltation and for the wings that are always on fire. ' (WB Yeats)
