Beginning with the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus June 19, 2009, Pope Benedict XV1 has declared this the "Year for Priests'. He made the special announcement that St John Vianney is the Universal Patron of Priests on this, the 150th anniversary of his death. The Curé d’Ars is beloved by all who know of him. A simple strand of prayer beads typical of the period, all in one loop for easier praying and less tangle. Each bead carries a slash to remind us of the stripes he wore for our sins. Pater is same as Ave bead to reflect the less complicated life we all search for. Crucifix was cast from an early rosary crucifix, traditional with Religious. |

We love the gemcut stones! Especially when they have the granite or picasso ends as they appear af first glance to be like an ordinary pebble one would find at the beach - washed clean yet leave mysteries to be found. These simple rock like or pebble beads appear to be cut, faceted to reveal a pure, sweet, inner soul! Much like St Vianney himself. Filigree Paters symbolize his openness to God. Eucharistic center, his love of Jesus and a simple cross from the same time he lived. |
